Spelling - Review your child's words with them every night. This could be
having them write them three times each, use the word in a sentence, or
quizzing them. On Wednesday there will be a practice test. On Thursday is
the final test for those students that do not make an E on the practice
test. On Fridays are our review tests on previous weeks' words.
Reading - Read your child's story with them every night. Go over their
vocabulary words with them nightly. Have them use the words in a sentence.
On Wednesday, have them complete their homework sheet. Vocabulary tests are
on Thursdays and Comprehension tests are on Fridays. Students read the
tests independently. They are also tested on saying the vocabulary words
halfway through each book and then at the end of the book.
Math - Check your child's folder for work not completed in class. Lessons
and tests are noted in the weekly newsletter.
