I am so thrilled to have you in my class! This is my ninth year teaching
gifted education. Before that, I lived in Guatemala for a few years and
taught as a missionary in an orphanage. Additionally, I taught in the UL
at Lafayette gifted program for nine years. I have a Bachelors Degree in
Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Gifted Education and
Instructional Technology. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Curriculum and
Instruction with a focus in Teacher Development and Gifted Education.
I love teaching with creative, relevant, and authentic experiences. I
won a national teaching award in 2005: ING Unsung Heroes Award—National
Excellence in Innovative and Creative Teaching! Additionally, I am currently
in the process of having my pedagogical theories and strategies published.
