Choo! Comprehension: visualize, fantasy and reality, captions Students are tested Friday on using the vocabulary in written sentences or matching the word to the definition; story comprehension in multiple choice form; and comprehension and phonics skills in multiple choice and short answer form. Phonics: long /o/ o, oa, ow Fluency: word automaticity, pausing for punctuation Spelling:low row boat coat no go puppy funny mother father A pre test is given on Thursday, if students receive an 'E' they do not have to retake the test on Friday. (When there is no school on Friday, one test is given on Thursday.) Grammar: adjectives, capitalizing proper nouns Writing: respond to an object by writing 3 sentences about what they observed. Math: skip counting by2s, 5s, and 10s; finding patterns in a table of related number pairs; numbers just before, after, or between; odd and even numbers; ordinal numbers Science/Social Studies: observing objects/valentines; Mardi Gras; presidents
