Welcome to the Boyet Junior High School Art Department.
My name is Roxanna Hill, I have taught Art here at Boyet
for over 19 years. I feel that my "natural habitat" is the art classroom. I
am blessed to teach a subject that I personally love to junior high students
who, for the most part, are spontaneous and energetic. That combination can
make beautiful results.
I hold a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Abilene Christian University in Texas,
taught high school art in Texas, and many art camps and classes for adults
as well as children. I was named Boyet's Teacher of the Year in 2005, Who's
Who Among America's Teachers multiple years and am a member of several
professional teacher organizations.
I was born in New Mexico and lived in Colorado, Arizona and Texas before
coming to Louisiana 22 years ago. In addition to enjoying all kinds of art,
my hobbies include travel, running (actually jogging), yoga, and spending
time with my family. I am married to an incredible scientist and have two
grown children and a beautiful doughter-in-law.
My mission is to help children love art and love the art of learning. My
masterpieces are my students who have developed the desire to learn and the
ability to use their minds and talents.
