Over the course of the year, you will stretch your mind and expand
your abilities in ways you never thought you could. IF you work with me,
you'll come out of this year more thoughtful, better able to understand what
you read with a mind that is sharper and with the confidence to use it well.
I want you to find success this year. Most of all, I want this year in
Language Arts to be a milestone, turning point, or springboard for you.
Years from now, I'd love for you to be able to remember this year and
say, "That's when I stopped just being a student, and became a leader." Your
success this year and into the rest of your life is my goal. I'm excited
about your being in my room, and all that we are going to be able to
accomplish! I LOVE what I do and feel very fortunate to be your teacher! I
love teaching school, especially middle school!
There is no better calling than to be a facilitator of learning with young
minds. These young people are our future. What better investment could we
make than that of helping all young people grow their desire of life-long
learning? What a true blessing it is to help guide young people to realize
the potential that lies within each of them.
My teaching goal is to foster critical thinking and problem solving
capabilities and to facilitate the acquisition of lifelong learning skills.
I believe it is integral for students to recognize that their education has
real life relevance and that everyone has the capacity to learn. It is
important to me that my students recognize that they are not only members of
our immediate learning community, but also future local, regional, and
global participants who have the potential for improving humanity. It is a
privilege to help my students pursue their dreams.
