Students have to maintain some sense of responsibility. Failure

What happens if I miss school?

You must submit your excuse note to the school office during
morning recess. A blue slip will be given for teacher(s)
signatures. Once signatures are secured, the blue slip is
returned to the office. ONLY THEN, is your absence excused. You
are then allowed 2 days to complete the make-up work. It is your
responsibility to ensure the work is completed & turned in to the
teacher. The teacher will not ask for it. If it is not turned in,
the student receives a ZERO.

How are grades assigned?

Tests = 50%
Classwork and homework = 40%
Participation = 10% (this includes agenda signatures, papers
turned in, folder signatures, etc.)

STI Grades & what symbols mean

Grades are posted on STI-usually weekly.
# means that student has not turned in the assignment. This eventually turns in to an F.
* means that student was excused from the assignment due to an excused absence & there was no time to make it up. This does NOT affect student's grades.
