Monday, February 6th - read and complete the questions on pages 264-265.

Tuesday, February 7th - We went over the questions on pages 264-265 and corrected
the answers in class today.  We began a Quick Lab - Around and Around.  We will complete the Quick Lab in class tomorrow.

Wednesday, February 8th - No homework.

Thursday, February 9th - Periods 2-7 - Complete pages 266 - 271.
                                        Period 1 - Complete page 266.

Friday, February 10, 2012 - Complete worksheet page 271E and 271G.

Monday - Read pages 248 - 255.  Complete textbook questions on pages 250, and 252 - 255.

Tuesday - Worksheet  page 255D and 255 F.

Wednesday - Graded in class assignment - Diagram Net Forces.  Students may take this home to

                      complete if not completed in class.  Due on Thursday.

Thursday -  Turn in Diagram of Net Forces.  Read pages 256 - 263.  Complete textbook questions

                   on pages 256 - 263.

Friday - Worksheet page 263D and 263 F.

2.  Tuesday - Study for the Chapter 6 test.
3.  Wednesday - Chapter 6 Test today!
4.  Thursday - Open Book / Notebook test today.  Make sure all of your 
     worksheets and your textbook has been stamped 
      indicating that you completed these assignments
     so that you can use them on the open book / notebook test.
5.  Friday - No homework.

Friday, January 6, 2012 -

1.  Parents - Please look for your child's grade on STI home.  One science grade has been listed for the new nine weeks.

2.  Parents - report cards will be sent home today - Friday, January 6, 2012.  Please sign and return the signature form on Monday.

3.  Today we completed an in class graded Lab - What is the Effect of Surface Area on the Reaction Time of an Effervescent Tablet?
No homework today.





Thursday, January 5, 2012 - 1.   Read page 201 and complete the questions on this page.


Wednesday, January 4, 2012 -  1. Read page 200.  Today we started work on a mini poster titled The Law of Conservation of Mass.  We will complete this in class.  No homework tonight!

       Semester Exam Schedule - 6th grade students will take a science exam based on the 1st half of the school year, semester 1.  Students will receive a study guide this week.  Students will take their exams according to the following schedule:

Tuesday, December 13, 2011  -    Period 2 and 7 exams.
Wednesday, December 14, 2011- Period 3 and 6 exams.
Thursday, December 15, -             Period 4 and 5 exams.
Friday, December 16, -                 Period 1 exam.

Friday, December 9, 2011 - All students were given their science semester exam study guides.   Periods 2 and 7 and due on Monday.  All other periods are due on Tuesday.

Complete pages 194-195.  Due Wednesday for periods 1-6.  Period 7 complete pages 191-193.

Monday, December 5, 2011 -
Complete all questions in the book on pages 192-193.
Periods 2, 4, and 6 assignment is due on Tuesday.
Periods 1,5, and 7 assignment is due on Wednesday.

1.  Science grades have been updated.  Check STI.
2.  Students are working on pages 184-191 in class.  No homework.

Wednesday - Turn in vocabulary.  Complete Chapter 4, Lesson 2 Study Guide. Due Thursday.
Thursday  - Study your study guide for the Chapter 4, Lesson 2 Test. 
Friday - Test today.  Did you study your study guide last night?


Wednesday, November 9th - 
1.  Answer all questions on pages 152-159.  Due Thursday for periods 2-6 and
     Friday for  7 and Tuesday 11-15-11 for period 1.


Tuesday, November 8th -
1.  Test today, Ch 4, Lesson 1  pages 144-151.  Did you study your study guide?
2.   Periodic Table worksheet is due on Wednesday for periods 2-6 and 
      Thursday for period 1 and 7.

1. Test on Friday!  This is an open book, open notebook, open worksheet test. Students should have been completing and correcting answers as we go over them in class.  This test is based on students completing and correcting their work.

4.The 6 vocabulary words from pages 48 and 93 are due on Tuesday.

5.  Read pages 96-99.  Answer all questions on these pages.


Wednesday, Sept. 7th - Friday, September 9th - 
1.  Read pages 92 - 95.
2.  Complete all the questions in the science book on pages 92 - 95.
3.  Define 6 vocabulary words found on page 93.  Include a diagram of each vocabulary word.  Diagrams must be labeled and colored.

The in class assignment was to write about volume.  Students were allowed to complete this assignment at home and turn it in on Friday if they were not finished in class.  The assignment directions were:

How do you find the volume of an irregular solid? 

1.  First, Discuss -What is a graduated cylinder?

2.  Second, Discuss -The math problem used

     and give a math example.

3.  Third, Discuss –How do you find the volume

     of an irregular solid?  What did you do to

     find volume?

On another full sheet of paper draw a diagram of the before and after graduated cylinder.  Include the marking and numbers on the side of the graduated cylinder.  Include labels, color, and the math problem!

We are working on Chapter 3, Lesson 1.  This begins on page 88.  Students please read pages 88 - 95.  7th hour - on Tuesday, turn in your 2 observation questions that we worked on in class today.



Wednesday, August 24, 2011 -    No homework. 
Parents please check your childs science grades on line on STI.  I put notes on some students grades that explain why your child received that grade.   ( My computer has been down for a few days so your child's science grades are finally updated.)          




Monday, August 22, 2011
1.  Test on Chapter 1, lesson 1 on Tuesday.
2.  Turn in vocabulary diagrams on the last 5 vocabulary words on
     page 5 on Tuesday.
3.  Turn in The Skills of Science worksheet on Tuesday. 



Tuesday, August 16, 2011 -
Periods 2 - 7, Define the first 5 vocabulary words on page 5.  Draw a diagram of each of the 5 vocabulary words.  Lable and color your vocabulary diagrams.  This assignment will be graded!
Period 1 will complete this assignment on Wednesday.

Monday, August 15, 2011 -  Complete the 4 questions found on page 7.  Write your answers in your book.


Friday, August 12, 2011 - No homework - have a great weekend!



Thursday, August 11, 2011 -  For periods 2 - 7.
Answer the 2 questions on page 4 and the question on page 5.  You should write the answers in your book.

Tuesday, August 9, 2011 -
Students put together their science notebooks today in class.  All students need a science notebook with their name and the word Science on the front cover.  Keep all graded papers that are returned to you in the pocket of your sciene notebook.  Students will take notebook tests!  At the end of the nine weeks students may clean out your science notebook and start with a new empty notebook.
