the answers in class today. We began a Quick Lab - Around and Around. We will complete the Quick Lab in class tomorrow.

Semester Exam Schedule - 6th grade students will take a science exam based on the 1st half of the school year, semester 1. Students will receive a study guide this week. Students will take their exams according to the following schedule:

The in class assignment was to write about volume. Students were allowed to complete this assignment at home and turn it in on Friday if they were not finished in class. The assignment directions were:
How do you find the volume of an irregular solid?
1. First, Discuss -What is a graduated cylinder?
2. Second, Discuss -The math problem used
and give a math example.
3. Third, Discuss –How do you find the volume
of an irregular solid? What did you do to
find volume?
On another full sheet of paper draw a diagram of the before and after graduated cylinder. Include the marking and numbers on the side of the graduated cylinder. Include labels, color, and the math problem!

Students put together their science notebooks today in class. All students need a science notebook with their name and the word Science on the front cover. Keep all graded papers that are returned to you in the pocket of your sciene notebook. Students will take notebook tests! At the end of the nine weeks students may clean out your science notebook and start with a new empty notebook.Monday, August 8, 2011 -
