Last year the Legislature passed a bill which impacted make-up work for students who have been suspended. The law allows students to make-up their work when suspended. There are a few criteria that you need to be aware of in terms of making-up the work and attendance.
1. Suspensions are non-exempted absences.
2. Students can make-up worked missed during the suspension time.
3. The value of the work is determined by the school’s policy.
4. The absences count against the student when determining whether the student meets attendance requirement.
