Homework & Spelling Choices

 

Homework:

 Reading:
    Daily Reading Comprehension- Read a passage each night and answer the comprehension questions.    
    Read at least 15  minutes each night (Monday-Thursday).  
    Don't forget to record your minutes read each night on your Monthly Reading Calendar!

1. Rainbow Writing 

Write your spelling words in

pencil and then use two or

three crayons to trace over

the words.

 

7. Acrostic Poem

Choose five of your spelling words. Write an acrostic poem for each word. You must also ILLUSTRATE your poem: fly

Laps around clouds 
Yes! I’m free

2. Pyramid Writing

Write the first letter of your

word, then on the next line,

write the first two letters of

your word. Continue doing

this until you have the word

spelled.      C

8. Glue It Writing


Cut our letters from

newspapers, magazines, or

make different kinds on the computer. Glue them to your paper to write your spelling words.

3. Computer Writing

Type your words on the

computer, print out, and

bring to school.

 

9. Bubble Letters

Write 10 of your spelling words in bubble letters. After you write your words in bubble letters, color your words with a crayon or colored pencil.

4. ABC Order

Write all your spelling

words in ABC order.

 

10.  Across and Down

 

Choose ten spelling words. Write each word across and down, sharing the beginning letter.

5. Word Search

Make a list of your spelling

words on a word search

program and print it out.

11. Connect the Dots

Write ten of your spelling

words in dots. Then connect

the dots by tracing over

them with a colored pencil.

6. Rhymes Writing

Write your spelling words

and next to them write a

rhyming word. Example:

men – pen  Underline your

spelling word.

 

12. Upper and Lower

 First write your spelling words normal. Then rewrite

your spelling word. This time write the vowels in lowercase and the consonants in uppercase.
