Hi! Welcome to 2nd Grade. My name is Rebekah Scherer and I am so excited
to be your child's teacher this year. I have been teaching at "The Best
School In The Whole Wide World" for the past 13 years! I feel so fortunate
to work with such an amazing faculty & staff. I do not consider my job as
just a place to work, but rather as my "2nd Family!"
I have been a life long resident of Covington where I actually attended
Covington Elementary as a young girl and eventually graduated from Covington
High School. Later, I graduated from Southeastern with a Bachelor's degree
in Elementary Education. I can honestly say there is nothing more rewarding
than teaching young children.
I have been married for 13 years to a wonderful and supportive husband. On
December 18, 2006 our first child, Tanner, was born. He is our little
miracle who we cherish and adore every minute. We also have a sweet white
lab named Molly who we consider part of our family. I enjoy spending time
with my family and friends who are all huge SAINTS fans. We have been
season ticket holders for several years now. GEAUX Superbowl CHAMPS!!!!!!!!
My goal as your child's classroom teacher is to encourage a positive
learning environment where ALL my students are challenged at their own
individual pace. I also feel it is very important for children to
learn how to work together and be supportive of each other's ideas.
Therefore, I will provide ample opportunities for all my students to work in
groups everyday. I truly feel each child is unique and has something special
to contribute to others. I look forward to working with you and your child!
