Dismissal at the End of the Period

-When you are packing up, you need to clean up your area, including the floor.
-You are to remain in your assigned desk until I dismiss the class. The bell does not dismiss the class.
Make-up Work
-When you return to school, it is your full responsibility to find out what you’ve missed and get the notes and assignments.
-The first person you ask for help is a classmate. If worksheets were handed out, they will be in the absent folder with your name on it.
-If a student is going to be out of school for several days, it is the parent’s responsibility to call the school and get assignments for the student.
-Use TeacherWeb to keep up.
Leaving the Classroom
-Anytime you step out the classroom, you must have a pass and sign out in the sign out book
When You Need a Pencil/Pen or Paper
Everyday you are to come to class prepared with all necessary materials. If you are running low on paper, pens, or pencils, let your parents know ahead of time. Write it in your planner as a reminder. For those times when materials are forgotten, I will have them available. Pencils will be kept in a cup at the front table. If you use one, please return it so it is there for others to borrow. I am lending it to you, not giving it to you.
Sharpening Your Pencil
Pencil sharpening should be done before class starts. Only two people at a time are allowed at the sharpener. If you need to sharpen your pencil during class, you need to raise your hand.
*I strongly suggest a hand sharpener
Asking a Question
In reference to questions, I ask that you refrain from asking unrelated questions (questions not related to the topic) in the middle of a lesson or a discussion. Raise your hand if you have a question or something to add to the discussion.
Turning in Papers
When there are turn-in assignments or tests, I will collect them from you. Do not put papers on my desk.
*I will check your homework at your desk and it remains in your binder.
Working Cooperatively
I expect all students to work cooperatively and respectfully with other classmates. I will not tolerate any rude comments, gestures, or behavior from a student when placed in a group that is not to your liking. Everyone is expected to be respectful and work together. Encourage and praise each other.
Going to the Office
You must have a pass to go to the office. If you go to the office at lunch or during another class and you now have to report to my class, the office needs to give you a pass to class.
When you finish early
When you finish early, you are to read a book, do other assignments, draw, do activities on the computer such as kids college. The key is not to disturb your neighbor when you’re finished. See poster.
When a School wide Announcement is made
When anyone is making an announcement, there needs to be complete silence. When the loudspeaker comes on, you need to stop talking, and pay attention. Talking when the loud speaker is on will not be taken lightly and will have a consequence.
Walking in the hall during class time
Whenever you’re in the hall, you need to maintain a quiet voice. You are not to disturb other classes or look in their doors. When entering the 300 hall after lunch, you need to come in the back door and wait quietly in the hall in a straight line for your teacher to arrive. There will be others in class and we don’t want to disturb them.
When visitors are in the classroom
When visitors are in the classroom, I expect you to be your best behaviorally and academically. If someone needs to speak with me, this is not a time to talk. You are to remain quiet and continue working.
If the teacher is absent
If I am absent, I expect you to behave the same as if I am there. You know all the procedures and you know the rules. There will be consequences for names left by substitute.(after-school detention)
If You are Suddenly Ill
Inform the teacher and head to the bathroom. Come back to class to get a pass to the office.
Using Your Manners
I expect everyone to use his/her manners at all times. I expect to hear “please” and “thank you.”
