Classroom Procedures

THE FOLLOWING IS A LIST OF CLASSROOM PROCEDURES AND CONSEQUENCES.
8th Grade
Positive Behavior Plan (PBS)
The 8th grade teachers are happy to introduce to you our PBS Plan. The
teachers have come up with rules and consequences that will be implemented in
all classes. We have lined up four field trips that will reward students who
can go a nine weeks with no write ups. As long as a student has been issued
no After School Detentions, Saturday Support, In School Support, or Out of
School Suspension they will be invited to attend the field trip for the nine
weeks. Each student will have the opportunity to start over at the beginning
of the nine weeks if for some reason they were denied the previous nine
weeks.
Classroom Rules
1.	Arrive to class on time.
2.	Be prepared to work with materials, books, and assignments ready.
3.	Stay in seat.
4.	Keep hands, feet, and objects to self.
5.	Use appropriate language.
6.	Follow directions.
7.	Respect others.
Consequences
1.	Verbal Warning
2.	Lunch Detention
3.	Punish Work
4.	Phone Call to Parent
5.	After School Detention
6.	Conference With Parent
7.	Office Referral
Management
1.	Classroom rules are to be followed at all times. Rules are expected
to be followed if there is a substitute teacher in the classroom.
2.	Teachers will enforce the rules and consequences as stated. The
teacher does reserve the right to skip any consequence depending on the
severity of the situation. Some situations will require immediate office
referral.
3.	Once a student has been assigned an after school detention by the
teacher or administration they will lose the opportunity to attend that nine
weeks pbs field trip. The student will also be removed if they receive In
School Support, Saturday Support, or Out of School Suspension.
4.	The 4th nine weeks field trip will be the picnic. There are some
different guidelines for this field trip and they are as follows:
In order for 8th graders to attend the 8th Grade Picnic, they must be in good
standing. The following disciplinary actions will keep students from
attending:
- two or more suspensions for fighting whether accumulated at Creekside or at
any other schools
- students who have three or more suspensions whether accumulated at
Creekside or at any other schools
- any other serious infractions as per administrative discretion
AND
during the 4th nine weeks (March 7-May 7) students may not receive:
- Saturday Support
- In-School Support
- Out of School Suspensions
Students who do not receive any of the above will be invited to attend our
8th Grade Picnic at the Pearl River Recreation Center.
