Subject: Band – Percussion Grade: 6, 7, 8

Periods: 1 & 3

Lesson Plan Objectives:

1. Students will be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of all notes and rhythms in the music that is played during rehearsal.

2. During rehearsal, students will play their individual instruments, analyze and assess assigned pieces of music for notes, rhythms and dynamics.

3. Through student evaluation and student assessment of their own performance, students will demonstrate the ability to play musical passages in the assigned music.

Students are to practice independently for a minimum of 90 minutes per week.

All rehearsals will begin with warm-up. Warm-up exercises will contain rhythm exercises.
