PROGRAM INFORMATION

Below are listed starting ideas for costumes for the K/1 program. Costumes
can be as simple or elaborate as you want them to be. They do NOT have to be
store bought. Each costume should be different for each child. One of the
great things about programs is seeing the variety of color and style so be
creative!!!

Honeybee: Yellow padded costume, black leotad on the legs; perhaps a black
stripe around the middle and some little wings fasten on the back; antennas
on the head, maybe carrying an oversized, labeled jar of honey.

Bug MC: Any style of bug

Yellow Jacket: Another bee (bigger than the honey bee) wearing a yellow
jacket of course.

Gypsy Moth: Chiffon'like pajamas, antenna, spangles

Horsefly: Could add cowboy-like props with a broom pony to ride

Monarch Butterfly: Orange wings and maybe a tiara

Maggot: Yellowish, white gauze wrapping, or just a very dirty child with
dirt on face

Dragonfly: A dragin-like tail, bigger wings in the unique style of a
dragonfly

Boll Weevil: Covered with lots of cotton balls, carrying a stick full of
cotton candy

Flipping Beetle: Should be able to do a somesault or flip

Stink Bug: Another dirty little beetle-like bug; maybe smelly socks and
tennis shoes around the neck or belt

Lady Bugs: Red shirts covered with black dots, black leotards and white
gloves

Grub Worm: Carrying a small shovel also wrapped in material

Fireflies: Mostly dressed in black, carrying flashlights or fasten them to
backside
Army Ants: Dressed in Military fatigues

Caterpillars that change into Butterflies: Start as caterpillars and change
into butterflies. Perhaps beautiful wings fastened under arms and middle of
backs. Wrapped completely with their arms at their sides in white gauze or
cheese cloth maybe

Praying Mantis: Clerical wardrobe??

Swarm of bugs: Need a kazoo

Houseflies: Wearing curlers in hair and apron, bedroom slippers and huge
sunglasses.

Blow Fly; Blowing on a balloon or toy trumper

Fruit Fly: With fruit on head and tropical attire

Venus Fly Trap: A plant that eats bugs

Lovebugs: Hearts all over their costumes

Cockroaches: Sombreros
