SCHOOL HOURS AND SCHEDULE
   A.  There is no one on duty until 7:30 am
   B.  Have your child at school no later than 7:55 as we start at this time
BY DROPPING OFF/PICKING UP IN CARPOOL LINE.  THIS IS A POLICY STATED ON
FAIRFIELD'S MAIN WEBSITE AND IT IS STATED IN YOUR CHILD'S BULLDOG FOLDER. IF
YOU JUST HAVE TO COME IN AND PICK YOUR CHILD UP, WE ASK THAT YOU REMAIN
DOWNSTAIRS AND WE WILL SEND THEM DOWN.  HAVING PARENTS UPSTAIRS WHILE TEACHERS
ARE ON DUTY AND STUDENTS ARE BEING SUPERVISED IS EXTREMELY DISTRACTING.
   C.  There are teacher's schedules posted on our website.
   D.  Conference times are @ 11:00-11:45 daily.  Call school or e-mail to
schedule a conference.  We do not conference unless one is previously 
scheduled.  WE CANNOT CONFERENCE IN THE HALLWAY BEFORE, DURING OR AFTER
SCHOOL. THIS IS EXTREMELY DISTRACTING FOR TEACHERS.  PLEASE E-MAIL OR SET UP A
CONFERENCE TIME.  "CATCHING" A TEACHER IN THE HALLWAY JUST SIMPLY CANNOT
HAPPEN UNLESS IT IS AN EMERGENCY TYPE SITUATION.  PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE,
RESPECT OUR POLICY.
   E.  Classrooms are locked  @ 2:50 pm as we leave.  If your child forgets
homework they need to call a friend.  They will NOT be allowed back into the
classroom.  PLEASE DO NOT ASK THE JANITORS TO OPEN OUR CLASSROOMS AFTER THEY
ARE LOCKED AT 2:50.  THIS IS FOR SECURITY PURPOSES AND RESPECT FOR YOUR
CHILD'S TEACHER.



CONDUCT/DISCIPLINE
   A.  Students are given a verbal warning before they will sign the conduct 
book.
   B.  Each time a student signs, 1 point is taken away from the 20 total
points for the week. (they earn 4 points daily unless they  sign)
   C.  If a student signs 3 or more times in one day the parent is contacted.

HOMEWORK
   A.  Homework will be given daily in math, language, and reading.
   B.  Completed homework(not checked for accuracy) will be worth 5 points
daily.  If they do not have it they will receive 0 points.  
   C.  Math homework counts for 10 % of your child's total grade.  Language
and reading will account for 5 % of the total language/reading grade.
   D.  Points will be totaled up at the end of the 9 weeks and a grade will 
be given for homework(a log is kept of homework points if you have questions)



ACCELERATED MATH
   A. Students are to have their AC MATH folder in their binder to help
students stay organized.
   B.  Students are to turn in a scantron if they expect to receive a
new assignment.
   C.  The goal each 9 weeks will be to master 25 objectives. 
   D.  The accelerated math goal will count as one big test grade.  
   E. STUDENTS ARE STILL REQUIRED TO COMPLETE AC MATH EVEN AFTER MEETING THE
GOAL.  2 TIMES A WEEK WILL SUFFICE.  This is perfect practice for the I LEAP
exam.  



GRADING
   A.  Grading scale is in the bulldog folder.
   B.  Grades in each subject will be sent home every 2 weeks NOT WEEKLY. WE
ARE ONLY REQUIRED TO SEND PROGRESS REPORTS AT MID 9 WEEKS. 
   C.  Conduct grades you will see EVERY week in the bulldog folder.
   D.  Official mid 9 weeks progress reports will be sent home around the 4th
or 5th week of each 9 weeks.
   E.  If your child has a D or an F they will receive a "D/F" notice before
reports come out.
   F.  Language grade is broken down as follows.....homework 5%
                                                    Process Writing 40%
                                                    Spelling 15 %
                                                    Language skills 40%
   G.  TESTS RESULTS WILL BE SEEN IN BULLDOG FOLDER EVERY 2 WEEKS.  WE CANNOT
GIVE INDIVIDUAL REPORTS TO CERTAIN PARENTS AS THIS IS NOT FAIR TO EVERYONE
ELSE.  PLEASE RESPECT THIS POLICY.
   H.  Grading, procedures, etc. with the exception of classroom rules will be
left to the individual teacher's discretion within reason as stated by the
C.S.P.B.  We all have different teaching methods and ways of grading papers. 
These will NOT always be uniform in every class.  




ACCELERATED READER/BOOK REPORTS
   A.  SEE AR PAGE ON THIS WEBSITE FOR FURTHER EXPLANATION.




SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES PROJECTS
  A.  All 3rd graders are REQUIRED to participate
  B.  Social Studies Fair dates:  (set up)
                                  (judge/take home)
  C.  Science Fair dates:   (set up)
                            (judge)
                            (take home)
  D.  There will be an outline of what is due and when going home later this
year.  You will be notified as when to expect to see info in the Bulldog 
folder.
  E.  Projects count for 100 points.  You child can either do Social Studies
OT Science.  They are NOT required to do both.
  


PLANNER
  A.  This is purchased as part of the school fee
  B.  Students are responsible for copying down homework daily.
  C.  Homework is posted the same in each class.
  D.  Please check planners daily to see what the homework is...

STUDENTS WE ARE TEACHING, GRADING PAPERS FOR, MANAGING, ETC.  PLEASE BE AWARE
ALSO THAT WE HAVE FAMILIES THAT WE ARE ALL ANXIOUS TO GET HOME TO AFTER
SCHOOL, SPEND TIME WITH, AND ENJOY JUST LIKE YOURSELVES.  THANK YOU FOR YOUR
