FIFTH WARD JUNIOR SCIENCE/MATH
Welcome to science class, an interactive class in which you will complete a variety of activities. Preparation, participation and cooperation will make this a valuable experience for everyone involved. I am looking forward to a great year.
ARRIVAL:
You are expected to arrive to class with your materials on time. Enter the room quietly and begin working on the daily trivia. Do not wait on the tardy bell or a signal from me to begin working!
MATERIALS:
notebook
SEATING:
-Sit only in your assigned seat. Please let me know if you have any special needs regarding the seating arrangements.
-Remember to be courteous to me as well as other students. Never get out of your seat when someone is talking.
ABSENCES:
It is your responsibility to find out what you missed, make it up , and turn it in within the allotted time (1 day per day missed).
BATHROOM:
You are expected to use the restroom before school, during lunchtime, and between classes. Please adhere to this practice. You can not learn if you are not in class.
GRADING:
Science
80% - Classwork, tests, homework, and projects
20 % EXAM
Math
50 % Test / Performance Tasks
40 % Classwork / Quizzes
10 % Homework
LATE WORK
Make sure that your assignments are turned in on time. It is not my policy to accept late assignments.
NOTEBOOK QUIZ:
Organization is an important aspect of everyday life. Students in the classroom need to be organized as well. EVERY page you use in your notebook must be properly headed with the assignment and page number. We will often have quizzes on which you will be allowed to uses your notebook. If you are absent, remember that it is your responsibility to make up the work prior to the quiz.
RULES:
Always be punctual, participate, prepared, productive, and positive
There will be no eating in class
