Yes, it's true: I used to be a stand-up comedian. I now have a captive
audience every day. I strive to make learning enjoyable, thought-provoking,
and applicable to everyday life.
I want to answer questions and help students achieve as much as they possibly
can. Never be afraid to ask me a question - although I know you will be
judicious as to the appropriate time.
Oh yes, I like to use large vocabulary words. Occasionally I'll make one up.
And I do sing during class, quite unexpectedly - but usually on key.
I received my teaching certificate from UNO in 2006 and am certified to teach
both secondary English and Social Studies. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in
1991 at Brandeis University, a small liberal arts university in Waltham, MA. I
grew up in the western suburbs of Philadelphia, PA - yes, I'm a yankee through
and through, but I love it here. Mandeville has been home since August 2001,
when my husband and I moved here so he could take a tenure-track teaching
position at SLU in the visual art department.
This is my fifth year teaching English II at Fontainebleau High.
Oh, and I'm a writer.
