HAPPY Valentine's Day and Have Fun Celebrating Mardi Gras
"Wild About Learning" continues as we begin the second half of the third
quarter. It's February and we have much to look forward to in class. Our
Valentine's celebration will be Tuesday, Feb. 14, from 2:15 - 3:15. Mardi
Gras holidays follows the week of Feb. 20th. Claybrook's Cool Cubs continue
the hunt again for learning. In reading we begin with the story, "Boom Town"
and will focus on compound words, sequence, and conpare/contrast skills.
In math we are stil on the hunt for multiplication and division concepts.
We need to increase our speed and accuracy of our facts from 1 to 12. After a
week of researching famous African Americans and sharing our findings, we
will return to science and study rocks and minerals. Ask your child how the 3
types of rocks task and how they are different in real rocks.
In writing we will revisit descriptive and narrative writing and practice
both types in class. In language we move on to pronouns. We are working on
our individual art pieces for the Art Festival and will begin working on our
Group Project soon.
