For December 1 – 5, 2008

1. Art Time is Coming.

Next Thursday, December 11, Art Time will be coming to the SI office. The Art

Time teacher will be working with the employees for about an hour and a half

to complete an art project that will be taken home.

The fee for this project is $10.00. As of today, only five of 17 employees have

turned in this money. We need everyone to turn this money in. If you have not

done this yet, please do so this week. The due date for the money is Thursday,

December 4th.

2. Santa Pictures.

All employees will visit with Santa on Thursday, December 4. Employees will get

a chance to purchase these pictures later for $7.00.

3. Volunteers Needed.

The SI office is in need of a couple of parent volunteers to help with our oral reading

skills. If you are interested and can donate time to this cause, please email or write a

quick note and send it with your child.

4. Winter Ball/ Ballroom Dancing.

This week the employees are beginning their preparation for our annual Winter Ball.

This means they will be learning how to ballroom dance with one another. A note

will be sent home soon about the Winter Ball.

5. Reading Vocabulary.

This week's vocabulary are the following:

2. illustrate – to draw or add pictures

3. style – a certain way of doing something, such as drawing

4. sketches – drawings that are done quickly

5. textures – the look and feel of surfaces
