| 1. A New Nine Week Period.
Today marks the beginning of a new grading period. The First Nine Weeks has traditionally
been a time to learn new SI routines and procedures. For the most part, the employees have
learned them and now its time to press ahead.
Due to the unique nature of SI, many stockholders (parents) may notice the First Nine Week
grades are lower than expected. Please understand that this is completely normal. Your child
should improve as the year progresses. If there is no improvement, then your child may have
academic problems that need to be addressed. But normally, children improve after the First
Nine Weeks.
2. New Employee.
Rashad Davis has recently joined the SI team. He is a native of New Orleans and looks forward
in making a contribution in SI. Join me and welcoming Rashad to the SI corporate family.
3. Oral Reading Assessment.
This week the employees will have another oral reading assessment. These are very important
since our parish has adopted the Dibels reading assessment.
The oral reading goal this nine weeks is to read 110 words per minute. Please practice oral
reading at home so that your child will succeed in class or on the Dibbels test.
4. MFL News.
The Multiplication Football League will play its second game this week.
Please help your child be an “All-Pro” team player by studying the 9-12x facts each night. And
dads can help their player by making paper footballs and scrimmaging at home!
