I graduated from Southeastern LA University and have been teaching for 28
years, this will be my 29th year of teaching, 13 of those years in Special
Education. I have been teaching at Lee Road Junior High since 2004. I have
taught all grades from first through high school and I love teaching.
I have two children. My son is a senior at Fountainebleau High School and
just had his Eagle Court of Honor. My daughter is studying to be an EMT and
is training to be a manager at Cracker Barrel.
I am actively involved with the Boy Scouts of America and have been for
the past 13 years. I am currently the Scout Master for Troop 110 and the
Advisor for Venture Crew 110. Right now our Troop/Crew has 13 members, boys
and girls, who are mostly from the Lee Road Area of Covington. We go
camping, canoeing, rock climbing, hiking, and have a great time! Our scouts
recently were trained in Safe Swim Defense, Water Rescue, and Safety Afloat.
Our Venture Crew is currently learning Native American Indian Dances so they
may have the opportunity to travel next summer performing.
My mission for my class is to inspire my students enough to spark a thirst
for knowledge and understanding, while helping them learn how to "think
outside the box."
