How do I make transportation changes?
If you need to make a change in your child's transportation home
from school, you must call the front office. They will then buzz
our classroom and notify me.
What do I do if my child is absent?
Your child's regular and prompt attendance at school is crucial
to his/her success. If your child is consistently tardy, he/she
is missing morning exercises that reinforce previous lessons and
give extra practice. Some classwork can be made up at home.
However, we do many learning activities as partner work or in a
group situation. This is very difficult to make up at home.
Please make getting to school on time a priority for you
and your child except in the case of illness or an emergency. If
your child misses a school day a missed assignements sheet will
be sent home. Please send a doctor's excuse or note stating why
your child was absent.
Can I send a treat for my child's birthday?
You are welcome to send a treat for your child's birthday (plan
for 22 students). Please send a note a day in advance so we can
schedule time to enjoy the treats and celebrate.
What is iLEAP?
Third graders take the iLEAP test in April. This is a state wide
test that includes Langugae Arts, Math, Science, and Social
Studies. Questions are multiple choice and constructed response.
We will be working hard all year to prepare for this test. Your
child will be ready! Please try not to pressure your child
egarding the test. The more relaxed students are, the
better they will perform. If you have any specific concerns,
please let me know.
How can I contact Mrs. Hardee?
You can call the school office (892-0869) and leave
me a message. You can also call my cell phone before 6:00 PM or
the house phone after 6:00 PM. My numbers are given out at Open
House. I will call you back as soon as I possibly can. Your
questions and comments are very important to me!
How will I know what my child has for homework?
A homework agenda/contract will be sent home every Monday in the
L.I.O.N. binder. A weekly homework schedule will also be posted
on this web site.
How will I know what grades my child is making?
Each Wednesday your child will come home with a Red Cub Roar
folder. It will contain graded papers and any additional
information from school. Please review papers with your child,
sign the Cub Roar Parent sheet, and return the papers in the
folder. All test papers are kept on file in the classroom.
