Week of February 6 - February 10, 2012

Reading
   This week we are reading books about Valentine's and Mardi Gras. Ask your child to retell you the stories we read.

Language Arts
   This week we are discussing the letter Dd. Our sight words this week is: for. Practice...writing your name (first and last) and saying your nursery rhyme every night. Read...the word bank, letter story and sentences.

Math
   This week we will continue identifying the penny, nickel, dime and quarter. We will continue learning number words, ordinal numbers, shapes and colors. We are also learning different ways to pattern and sort. Our Everyday Counts calendar is a big part of our math curriculum. Ask your child about it! Practice your birthday, address and phone number.

Social Living
   We will be learning about Louisiana and Mardi Gras.

Technology
   We are continuing to use the computer and promethean board correctly. We will be exploring starfall.com, ABCya.com and other fun educational websites.


THINGS TO REMEMBER
The Krewe of Lyon Parade will be on Friday, February 10th. We will be observing and shouting "Throw Me Something Mister!" Please send your child with some type of bag for their "catches".
We will be exchanging Valentine's on Tuesday, February 14th. If you would like to participate, please mark the "FROM" portion of the card only with your child's name. We have 21 students. Candy and treats are welcome. Please send items in a bag marked with your child's name.
Snack Shack is back on Fridays. Please send money in a marked envelope. There is now a $1.00 limit on spending.
