WOW! We have already completed the first 9 weeks of school. We are ALL off
to a great start. The children are settled into our classrooms and have
routines in place. What a great year this will be.
The 2nd 9 weeks period is off to a great start. The children are very
engaged in our routines, and some impressive learning is taking place. This
9 weeks period tends to be a short one, with celebrating Thanksgiving and
Winter Break, so stay on top of things. We have worked on letters A-G, in
isolation so far. Please implement these letters into games, notes, cards,
etc. at home for reinforcement. Working on Numbers 1-10 is now being
reinforced and numbers are giving representation of something concrete. We
focused on 1-5 in the first 9 weeks, and the students are ready for this next
step in counting and identifying groups of objects. Colors have been worked
on daily in the classroom, and it is paying off for almost every student.
They are getting very good at the basic colors.
LABEL YOUR COATS AND JACKETS! While the cooler weather is now upon us, many
students will need a coat or jacket. ALL of the coats tend to look alike
when in a pile, so please label them. This label may be our only way of
knowing who to return the jacket to, whether in the classroom or on the
playground. Thanks.
ALL Parents will receive a progress report, showing where your child has
strengths and weaknesses, before the Winter Break. You have 3 options: by
phone call, in person, or written in report form for your review. Please
return ALL conference forms ASAP, so that an appointment to meet or discuss
can be made. Thank you so much.
