Our field trip to Maritime Museum is on Monday, Februrary 13th. The
cost of this trip is $12.00 which covers entrance into the museum and bus
transportation. Students without a signed permission slip or money to pay
for the trip will not be able to attend. Remember, if your child indicated
that he/she was bringing a lunch from home, please don't forget to send it
along on that day. The cafeteria does not pack extra lunches on field trip
day!
Valentine's Day recognition will take place in class on Tuesday afternoon.
Children will be able to exchange cards and/or treats beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Participation in this Valentine's Day exchange is voluntary; however, if your
child chooses to participate, remember that ALL children in our classroom
MUST be included in any exchange. Please be considerate of each and every
valued member of our classroom family. Thank you!
Links of Love are available for 25 cents a piece or 5 for $1.00. All money
raised will go to help find a cure for cancer. Please consider how you can
help Lyon make a difference with this worthwhile charity. Thank you for your
support!
Checkpoints testing in math and reading will be taking place this week.
Now is a great time to replenish your child's school supplies. Most children
are in need of glue sticks, pencils, erasers, crayons, markers and new
composition notebooks. Thank you, in advance, for helping to keep your child
supplied with the things he/she needs to be successful in class.
Please be sure your child remembers to wear a warm jacket or sweater to
school now that the weather is turning a bit chilly.
Please help me by making sure your child knows how he/she is getting home
from school each day. If there are transportation changes home, I will need
to have a written note detailing the changes. School policy does not allow
me to take your child's word for any changes - parents must provide
permission through Lyon's office staff.
Encourage your child to read at least 20 minutes daily. Remember, children
LOVE when you read to them! Curl up on your favorite comfy chair and share in
the joy of reading a great story with your child.
Please consider joining Lyon's excellent PTA. All of the students attending
this great school benefit from the generous time, talent, and effort given
through PTA participation.

Community Coffee UPC codes. Lyon Elementary is able to purchase great
equipment and supplies from these manufacturer incentives.
