Week of March 21st - 25th, 2011

What are we doing this week?

Reading

 

This week we are reading books about plants, animals & the letter Uu.
We have checked our 1st books out of the library, but will keep them in the classroom for safe keeping these first two weeks.  When they are sent home, please take good care of them.  Thanks!
 

Language Arts


  • This week's letter is: Uu
  • Have your child practice writing his/her name every night.
  • Our sight word this week:  here
  • Remember to read the word bank and The Uu Story every night.

Math

 

  • We continue to learn about addition.

  • We will continue to explore shapes, numbers, and colors.

  • We continue to learn about patterns and sorting.

  • Your your child should be able to recite the following:

    • His/her birthday

    • His/her address

    • His/her phone number

  • Practice counting to 50 every night, and reading the number names:  one, two, three, etc...

Social Living

 

 

  • This week we continue to discuss plants.

  • Our animal under review is the Umbrella Bird. 

  • We are also reviewing Elmer's Expectations. 

  • We have been reading and practicing the lessons taught in HAVE YOU FILLED YOUR BUCKET TODAY?  Ask you child to tell you how he/she can be a "bucket filler".

 

Technology

 

Computers & Promethean board are being used every day.

Complete one of the Uu pages. 

Count to 50.

Practice reciting the days of the week and the months of the year. 

Complete the other Uu page.

quarter

Read a book!
