Language Arts – Unit 3 – Let’s Connect

Review Week – Kids Can Help

Skills – S Blends, and vowels, verbs, capitalization, and punctuation, summarizing, sequencing events, letter writing, and finding the main idea.  Our reading materials come from the Guaranteed Parish Curriculum and Macmillan/McGraw-Hill Treasures Collection.

Math – We will begin Chapter 5. Students will be learning about Geometry and Fractions. We will identify plane shapes, solid figures, sides and vertices. We will continue with daily practice with mixed addition and subtraction through fact families.  Fact test continue on Thursdays. Our lessons are part of the Guaranteed Parish Curriculum. Our math book is published by Scott Foresman. We also use the programs Everyday Counts, Today’s Math and Investigations.

Social Studies/Science – We will complete the study of My Country, My Friends, and Thanksgiving. Send in your Friendship supplies by Wednesday.  Our units are taken from the state’s curriculum along with some units that correspond with the Macmillan/McGraw-Hill Treasures Collection.
