Week of November 16
This week, we will continue discussing the traditions and history of
Thanksgiving. We will be making a Native American costume Tuesday. Each
student needs 1 plain pillowcase (tan works the best, but any light color
will work) to make their special costume. Please have it labeled with their
name.
I truly enjoyed listening to the students present their Thankful projects.
It definitely made me reflect on the many good things in my life, as well!
Some turkeys will be spared this Thanksgiving thanks to the creative
efforts of: Sean Bradley, Sydney, Lance, Jacob, Evan, Tyler, Cameron,
Caroline, Kinley, Amanda, and Ainsley! They disguised their turkey
beautifully!
Our class has hit the jackpot with awards recently. We won an extra
recess/popsicle party for having the most parents donate their time and/or
plants at the recent Beautification Day at our school. We also won the door
decorating contest in first grade during Red Ribbon Week. Our theme
was “Drugs Are Scary” and the kids decorated it with art projects they made.
We will be getting an additional treat for this!
You may begin sending in pajamas for our Pajama Drive. ** Have a wonderful
Thanksgiving with your family!
P.S. I do plan on returning that full week after Thanksgiving holidays.
