A Note From Mrs.Desselles
Dear Parents,
      Thanks for sending in the white t-shirts. We will be decorating them on 
Wed. I’ll contact the parents who volunteered to help decorate them and let 
you know what time to arrive on Wed. Thanks for the overwhelming response to 
help with all of the activities for the Pow-Wow- I ‘m so thankful for your 
help and support. 
       We’ve been busy working on Thanksgiving activities, and the 
Thanksgiving Holiday will begin on Monday, November 23, 2009.
    Please continue to review with your child their telephone number and 
address.
  What We’re Learning This Week
We will begin Unit 4. Each week we will focus a certain letter in the 
alphabet.
Themes: Where Food Comes From/Pilgrim
Stories: Apple Farmer Annie, The Singing Wagon, Pilgrims, One little two 
little and three little Indians, leveled readers
Letter and Sound Recognition: Nn
High Frequency Words: to review go, see, a, like, the, we, am, can, I
Color Word: review gray, white, pink black, brown, purple, orange, green, 
yellow, blue, red
 Vocabulary: fruits and vegetables
Oral Vocabulary: farmer and market      
Phonemic Awareness: phoneme Categorization, phoneme isolation, phoneme 
blending,  
Comprehension: Identify sequence of events
 Math Voc.: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten reading 
and writing numbers, patterns, more, less ,equal and ordinal numbers.
Show –n-Tell: On Friday, your child can bring an object or a picture of 
something that begins with Nn. It is must be able to fit in your child’s 
booksack.Please try to bring in an item. The children look forward to this 
event. .******************************************************************

Read with your child each night!
Please send all homework in blue homework folder on Friday. Challenge 
Activities will be denoted by **. These are extra activities. They’re not 
required.
Monday – Look in the newspaper and locate high frequency words and N’s. 
Review reading high frequency words – to, go, see, a, like, the, we, am can, I
**Write a sentence with to ** 
Tuesday – Read decodable reader and do Handwriting sheet. Review reading  
all  color words 
gray,white,pink,black,brown,purple,orange,green,yellow,blue,red*Write a 
sentence using your favorite color.**
 Wednesday -Do math worksheet. Review reading number words 1-10
Thursday – Do reading worksheet page 85 and 86 .Read: Nip and Nat
