I believe that homework should be a fairly quick and painless
process. It is typically finishing incomplete classwork, spelling contracts,
and studying for tests and quizzes.
Check here for weekly reports on class activities, homework, test dates, etc.,
listed by SUBJECT.

***** The "Purple Folder"
Parents please remember that purple folders will come on Thursday's and you
are to take all papers out and keep them. Please sign sheet if there are
test grades listed. I am finding many students are not getting a Parent
Signature, please make sure you sign, take the paper's out, and return the
folders on Friday!
Thank You!

AR READING:
All students are adjusting to the AR Reading every morning. I think they are
really enjoying this and all of them are doing very well. One of the best
ways to be a better reader, is to READ!!!!
Every student has a goal this marking period of two points.
They have AR folders that are kept in the classroom, where they will log what
they reading daily, including page numbers. When they have finished reading
their book, they will show me their log and then be allowed to take the AR
Test for that book.

Parents,
After a terrible time with flu, I am back to school to enjoy what little time
I have left with your kiddos! Thank you all for the wonderful gifts I received
for Teacher Appreciation week! It has been such a pleasure teaching your
children. This is an amazing group of kids and I adore each and every one of
them! Next year will take me to Lancaster Elementary. I will miss my MJH
family very much and I look forward to seeing them as we all work together in
the community.
As we finish out the school year, please remember we are still learning and
assessing. Here is what the following days look like:
ELA
• Finish Helen Keller Novel
• Watch “The Miracle Worker”
• Compare and Contrast Movie and Book
• Comprehension Test
No more Spelling words, no vocabulary. We will be taking the Comprehension
Test this Thursday on the whole unit. Students have study guide and we review
daily in class. Please review every night this week.
Math
• Interpreting Graphs
• Making Graph Activities
• 5th Grade Survey
The last major Math assessment will be the 5th Grade Survey.
