The 2012-2013 school year will be my eighth year teaching second grade at
Magnolia Trace Elementary. Before MTE, I was a librarian at Fontainebleau
Junior High for six years. I have also taught elementary grades in Texas and
Illinois including my favorite grade, second grade.
In 2004, I received my Master of Education degree in Curriculum and
Instruction from Southeastern Louisiana University. I have a Bachelor of
Science in Education degree from Illinois State University.
My family moved to Mandeville fifteen years ago from Connecticut. My three
children graduated from Fontainebleau High School. My older son has his
doctorate in economics and is a professor at Purdue University. My younger
son graduated from Kansas State University and is an architect in
Connecticut. My daughter recently graduated from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine.
She is doing an internship in internal medicine/surgery at Virginia Tech. Her husband
is at University of Chicago earning his MBA.
In my spare time, I like to quilt and craft. I also am active in Girl
Scouting.
