My name is Stephanie Cade, and I have been teaching for 17 years. The
first 10 years of my career were in St. Charles Parish where I taught 1st and
2nd grade as well as a math resource class. Although I loved my job there, I
got tired of commuting once I moved to the north shore, so I came on over to
St. Tammany, and I have been teaching 3rd grade ever since. I thought I
loved teaching 2nd grade until I started teaching 3rd grade. I love the
curriculum and of course, I love working with the age group. It's a perfect
fit for me!
I think being a mother of three children has helped me to be a better
teacher by allowing me to see things from a parents' perspective as well as
from a teacher's perspective. I know how busy families are these days with
sports, dance, church, etc. because I am busy with the same things! It has
helped me to be more understanding, patient, nurturing, and still have high
expectations.
I strongly believe that every child can learn in the right
environment, and I work diligently to build a positive climate in my
classroom. We build a community where everyone can take risks and feel
comfortable as they learn. Also, I believe that learning should be fun at
this age. When a child is engaged, learning happens so I do my very best to
provide engaging activities.
I am looking forward to a great year!
