My name is Denean Trigs-Keys. I have been teaching for 19 years and
this is my 13th year at Mandeville Elementary. I am certified in Nursery
School - Fouth grade and as a Reading Specialist. I have a Masters Degree
in Curriculum & Instruction and I am National Board Certified as an Early
Childhood Genearalist. I have also been married for 19 years to my terrific
husband Rodney Keys Jr. and we have two wonderful children Robin-Renee, 13
and Rodney Keys III (R.K.) 11.
I realize that the instructional experiences of my students will have an
impact on their families, the school, and community. My every effort is to
ensure that the impact is positive and produces independent life-long
learners who feel confident about themselves and their role in society. My
mission is to prepare my students with skills for life not just first
grade. I hope to create a classroom community where students can feel safe
to take risk and encouraged to make good choices. My goal is to nurture and
support my students in every area of development.
