Univ. of Florida graduate. I played baseball (pitched) for
the Gators, I'm a Gulf War (Desert Storm) veteran, and have lived in and
traveled to over 70 foreign countries and 49 of the 50 states,so I know from
first hand experence a
bit about world geography, other cultures, and the US and it's history and
culture. I have a Recreation Management
degree from the U. of F. and a Masters degree in Education from the Univ. of
New Orleans. My wife is an Assistant Principal at Abney Elementary School
in Slidell. We have 4 children and 13 grandchildren. I am the Social Studies
Department Chairman, MHS 2011-2012 Teacher of the Year, and the 2011-12
school year will be my 21th year at MHS.
I spent 16 years in the business
world prior to becomng a teacher. My wife and I live on a large lake in
Mississippi
where we enjoy entertaining family and friends. ITS GREAT TO BE A FLORIDA
GATOR!
Most of my students know very little about the world or history.
Thats why I have a job! I enjoy opening up their eyes to the world around
them. We study and discuss the physical world and cultures of the world in
W.G., and our countries hisory in A.H.. I try to show them why that
information is relevent to them NOW. W.G.education brings with it the
ability to relate to and understand the peoples of the world, and A.H.
education allows the students to appreciate what it means to be an American.
