Make-Ups are only allowed for students who provide a written excuse from a parent/legal guardian
to Student Services. Excuse notes must be brought to Student Services and entered into the
computer in order for any assignments and/or tests to be made up. Once the absence is marked in
the school's computer as excused, the student will be given one week to make
up the missed work. It is the student’s responsibility to make up all work that was missed when
he/she was absent. Failure to do so will result in a 0F for all assignments not made up!
I do not allow ANY make-up work for unexcused absences!
Make-up Tests will be by appointment with the teacher. It is the student's
responsibility to ask what day they will make up the missed test. Make-ups will be after
school.
I do not offer tutoring; however, some help can be worked out. Also, the school does have an after school tutoring program.
"FLOAT - Freshman Learning to Overcome Academic Tardiness"
Freshman students who have a missing or late non-absence related classwork work will be assigned an academic lunchtime detention called a FLOAT session. Students will be able to recover 50% of the total grade from the missed work by attending FLOAT. NO test/essay/performance task grades may be made up during these sessions, only classwork that a student failed to turn in when s/he was present in class. Students will be given a form to have his/her parent sign acknowledging the FLOAT session to be served within 24 hours. Students may bring a lunch from home or may prearrange to have a cafeteria lunch bag waiting in the FLOAT room which the student must purchase. This is an effort to allow students to develop good habits by completing and turning in classwork when it is due.
