About Your Librarians

Sue Hatchett is in her sixth year at Mandeville High. She previously was a 
librarian in Maryland. She holds a BA in art history from the University of 
South Carolina and a master's degree in school library media from Towson 
University.

Sally Barringer comes to Mandeville High from the public library, where she
was a reference librarian for seven years.  She holds a BA in arts and
humanities from UL of Lafayette, a master's degree in library science from
LSU, and an ancillary certification in school media centers from the state of
Louisiana.

Objectives of the Library

The MHS Library shares the objectives of the State of LA as stated in 
Guidelines for School Media found at

The hub of a learning-centered school is an effective school library media 
program. 
 
A quality library media program improves student achievement. 
 
The best measure of the effectiveness of a library media program is the 
extent of its impact on student learning.
