Reading
This week we continue reading Devil's Arithmetic. There will be a reading
quiz on Wednesday for chapters 5-7. (Honors will take their chapter 1-4
Monday). There will also be a Vocabulary Test on the list handed out in
class on Wednesday. Tuesday is our last library day and we will focus on
outline and powerpoint. Remember, you can not start your powerpoint until
the notecards, bib cards, and outline are complete. A research grade on what
you have done so far will be given on Monday. Review your research packet if
you have questions or ask me in class. The Anne Frank "I AM" poem is due on
Thursday. You have a handout on how it is graded. Do not forget to type it,
bold the font, add a connected picture, and place a period at the end of each
line.
English
We are working in class on research this week and on outline format. This is
an important skill and students will need to know how to complete these steps
in high school. We will also have daily DOLs and review grammar. We will
begin an adjective unit after the holidays and work on more LEAP essays in
class.
