Debbie Knick (Director) has always had a passion for the performing arts and 
enjoys teaching talented theater at Mandeville Junior High School.  She 
founded the Tchefuncte Middle School After School Drama Program in 1993 and 
taught Gifted Education and Talented Theater at TMS for eleven years.  Having 
a Lifetime Certificate in Elementary Education with Certification in Gifted 
Education, Supervision of Student Teaching, Ancillary Degree in Theater and a 
Master's Degree Plus Thirty Graduate Hours in Supervision and Administration, 
Debbie has been teaching for thirty-five years; all in St. Tammany Parish 
with the exception of one year.

As an actor, playwright, teacher and director, Debbie has directed and acted 
in over 50 productions.  She is the founder of Knick-Knack Productions and 
her past productions include Little Mary Sunshine, Oklahoma, Sound of Music, 
Cinderella Batistella, Charlotte's Web, Annie, Jr., Bye-Bye Birdie, Music 
Man, How To Eat Like A Child, Scenes For Teens, All Shook Up With 
Shakespeare, Little Women, Fiddler on the Roof, and Bye Bye Birdie.  Her new 
interest is filmmaking, and was recently cast in a movie directed by one of 
her former students.  Outside of drama, Debbie enjoys gardening, walking and 
travel.  Her favorite getaway is New York City…Broadway, of course!  

Debbie is married to Ron Knick who is a builder and they live in Mandeville 
in a Knick Custom Home they designed and built. Ron can always be found at 
MJH during rehearsal building sets for all of the shows.  He's also available 
at every show in case of a technical problem!  Ron and Debbie are proud to 
have raised and educated six wonderful children and now spend time with their 
4 pound chocolate poodle, Meggie (short for Nutmeg)...who always takes 
                                    Center Stage!
