This is my sixteenth year of teaching, thirteen of which have been here at Mandeville Junior High. I
received my BA at Nicholls State University and my Masters and a Specialist in Education with a
concentration in Educational Technology. I was the 2004-05 MJH Teacher of the Year and the 1st
Runner-up for Elk's Parish Teacher of the Year. In 2009 my thesis, "Using Technology to Cheat: Can
Schools Protect Themselves?", was published as a book by VDM Verlag. I am a National Board Certified
Teacher as of November 2009. I am currently working on administrative certification. I live in Big
Branch with my husband, my twin girls, and dogs, Deeogee and Sasha.
It is my job to prepare my students for the LEAP and test, high school and life beyond it. Students
should be actively engaged in learning activities to get the most out of their educational experience. It
is my responsibility to provide a safe learning environment and to provide well designed lessons. I
believe students are ultimately responsible for their own learning.
