8/10/2011 Today we started class with Daily Math, Week 1 Practice for
Wednesday. After reviewing the answers, you were given a few minutes to
finish discussing the "Our team likes..." handout. Next, we discussed the
group expectations for each team using the Qualities of a Good Team Member
handout. First you were paired with your shoulder partner, and then you were
given time to collaborate as a team.
We started working in stations today. There are 6 stations in the classroom.
The stations are as follows:
A: Course Information/Course Procedures Scavenger Hunt
B: Getting to Know the Calculator
C: Adding and Subtracting Decimals
D: Multiplying and Dividing Decimals
E: Adding and Subtracting Fractions
F: Multiplying and Dividing Fractions
Stations B-D are a review of the material that you were taught last year.
Throughout the period, I monitored each group and answered any questions.
Over the course of the next few days, each group with visit all six stations.
Only one station was visited today. Each station has a handout that is
appropriately titled. The graphing calculator station receives two handouts.
You do not have to finish the handouts for homework. Use your free time over
