What day does my child receive the graded papers folder?

Students receive their graded papers folder every Wednesday. Please
look over the papers in the folder with your child. Any grades lower
than a "C" will require a parent signature. Please sign the folder and
return WITH ALL OF THE SIGNED PAPERS IN THE FOLDER. I keep
these papers so we will have something to refer to during conferences.

What day does my child receive the weekly overview?

The weekly overview goes home each Monday. The overview will include
information from Mrs. Kyle, Mrs. Wolff, and myself. Science information
will be specific to each homeroom. If you do not receive the overview,
please check our webpages for the information.

Do test and homework dates change?

Yes, if the students are not ready for the homework, it may be delayed a
day. The same goes with tests.

How long does my child have to read each night?

Student will receive a home reading log each week. You can find a copy
of the log in the documents section of this webpage. Each student
is required to read at least 5 out of 7 nights per week. Students
must read at least 15 pages and write a 2 sentence summary of what
they read. Parents must sign the reading log. This is a homework
grade and students not completing the home reading will receive a MAZE.

Students will be challenged to read 40 books of a variety of genre
this year.

Does my child have to read an Accelerated Reader book for nightly reading?

I recommend that your child read an Accelerated Reader book at night.
Students have AR goals to reach each nine weeks and the AR reading
in class will not provide enough reading time for your child to reach
this goal.
