What do I do if I am absent from class?

Makeup for absences
If a student has an extended absence, a makeup folder with
instructions and due dates will be given to the student upon
return.

For short absences, missed tests should be taken the day the
student returns.
If a student is absent, he/she is expected to make up the work
within 2 days after the absence and to see me or a classmate for
an explanation of what work was missed.

If a homework assignment was checked in class while absent, the
student must turn in the work upon return to class. Be sure to
check Teacher Web or phone a friend to get the homework while you
are out of school. Get the phone number of several classmates.

All tests and assignments should be made up by Friday of the week
in most cases. It is also the student's responsibility to copy
any missed notes, get missed handouts from teacher, and to view a
copy of any presentations missed. Remember students need to make
up work for missing class because of field trips.

Excessive absences can negatively affect grades, so I encourage
students to miss school as little as possible.
