Louisiana State University
Students who wish to live on campus must first be admitted to the university before they can apply for housing. This makes it even more crucial that we have your students' test scores and grades in order to make a prompt admissions decision. A new residential hall for Mass Communications Residential College in Jackson Hall is opening this year.
For two years LSU has been awarding students our National scholars award. This unique opportunity is for students recognized as finalist of semifinalis in National Academic compettions and who score in the 80th percentile on the PSAT, ACT, or SAT (currently a 25 ACT composite) or who are in the top 10% of their graduating class. The award pays for a student's tuition and registration feee for 8 semesters, and is valued at an estimated $13,000 for the class of 2009. For the class of 2009 we offered the award to 385 Louisiana students, 28% more than the 278 we awarded to the class of 2008.
Louisiana Tech University
Students and parents will have the opportunity to attend our exciting Saturday visit events TWICE this Fall. Time Out for Tech, on Sept 19 & December 5, will allow students to experience campus while learning more about housing, financial aid, and our academic departments. Everyone attending will be invited to join the Tech Family @ the football game that evening.
This year, Tech will see the completion of over $100 in the renovation, construction, acquisition, and maintenance of campus facilities, including improvements to our recreational, housing, and academic resources.
Tech now offers a minor in Sports Marketing awarded through the College of Business.

School of Architecture and Design - one of 20 teams selected internationally to compete in the 2009 Solar Decathlon Team BeauSoleil will be the only Louisiana team to display a solar home on the National Mall in Washington D.C. during the month of October 2009.
College of Nursing and Allied Health Professions was named the 2009 Nightingale Nursing School of the Year award. We have the nation's third largest traditional nursing program with a 97% pass rate on the certification exams throughout the last 20 years.
UL Lafayette Mechanical Engineering students were featured on the Discovery Channel for designing and building the "Cajun Crawler" - a Segway like device that moves on mechanical legs that provide crab-like movements.
Northwestern State University
NSU is ranked the fourth largest Nursing program in the nation.
New innovative programs like our Bioinformatics program. It is the only undergraduate program in our state, in addition to being only one of 30 in the nation.
The Departments of Biological Sciences and Criminal Justice offer a new Joint program in Forensic Science.
Southeastern Louisiana University
 Southeastern has implemented a number of new undergraduate degrees. These new programs include Supply Chain Management, Engineering Technology with mechanical, construction, computer science, and industrial technology concentrations, and additional clinical training in radiology technology.
 Southeastern offers a unique "Progression Scholarship" to encourage students to complete their undergraduate degrees in four years.. As students progress towards a degree they can receive a scholarship for their progression after each year.
 Southeastern's School of Nursing undergraduate program has been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate nursing Education and, for the third time in six years, the nursing program has been named "Nursing School of the Year" by the Louisiana Nurses Foundation.
University of Louisiana at Monroe
New and returning students with a 3.5 GPA or highter will now have the opportunity to live in ULM's recently est. Scholars Hall in one of our newest residence halls on campus.
For fall 2010, ULM is excited to announce a residential college for high ability students pursuing degrees in the healthcare field. A primary goal is to assist students in transitioning from high school to college in a small college living, learning environment.
The Clarke M. Williams Student Success Center is our newest addition to campus. Tutoring, advising, supplemental instruction, study rooms, and computer labs are some of the free services provided to our students.
Louisiana State University @ Alexandria
 LSU is pleased to announce its Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The BSN is a two plus two program where students earn their Associates Degree in Nursing along the way to earning a BSN. These students are licensed and considered Registered Nurses by the time they are Juniors in college.
 New construction includes renovations to the student center, cafeteria, and fitness center, as well as construction of a new academic building, and completion of the new athletic fields which are slated to open in the Spring of 2010.
 New priority deadlines: LSUA priority deadline for admission applications and scholarships is December 1.

LC has increased it's freshmen enrollment by 30%.
LC is still working toward opening the Judge Paul Pressier School of Law in the Fall of 2011.
LC has begun the process of starting the Louisiana Collge School of Medicine in 2012.
95% of pre-law students were accepted to law school over the past seven years.
During the past four years, 92% of LC applicants to medical school have been accepted with an average entrance exam (MCAT) score of 30.6.
Over the past 10 years, 100% of nursing graduates find work prior to graduation from LC.
92% of social work students were granted advanced standing upon acceptance to graduate schools of social work over the past seven years.
100% of education students who complete the program passed all parts of the PRAXIS exam.
