Welcome to the start of an exciting new year in Pre-k! My name is
Ashley Smith and I am going to be your child’s teacher for the 2011-2012
school year. This is my third year teaching in Zachary and I am very excited
to be here at the Zachary Early Learning Center teaching Pre-k. Before coming
to Zachary I taught Pre-k in East Baton Rouge Parish for 3 years. I received
my Early Childhood degree from Louisiana State University, GEAUX TIGERS, and
currently reside in Baton Rouge with my lovable pups Abita and Gracie Elaine.
I am also working on my Masters in Educational Leadership at Southeastern
Louisiana University and will be graduating this Spring.
Mrs. Nixon will be our paraprofessional this year and we are extremely
lucky to have such an experienced and wonderful person working with us. We
will be working together to help your child reach there full potential, have
fun life experiences, and reach many milestones this year.
One of my beliefs is that it takes both family and school staff to
help a student be successful. To do this I encourage open, frequent
