Zachary Early Learning Center has adopted a Positive Behavior Interventions & Support, PBIS. The school expectations are:
1. Be Respectful
2. Be Responsible
3. Be Your Best
We call these our "three beats." We have a song that we sing that reinforces these "three beats". Please ask your child to sing the song! When we see a child following the rules, they earn a pony point. At the end of the week they can purchase an item with their pony points. So the more your child follows the rules, the more pony points they earn! Encourage your child to "beat to the drum with positive behavior".
Below is the school-wide discipline plan. You received a copy of this plan, read it, signed it and returned it to me. Please review this plan with your child frequently.
Mrs. Mestayer's Pre-K Discipline Plan
One of the characteristics of an effective school is providing an environment that is safe, orderly and wholesome. With this in mind, Zachary Early Learning Center maintains high expectations of student behavior. We follow the PBIS plan. (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) All pupils are expected to know and comply with the school and classroom expectations, cooperate with their teachers and other staff members and to greet all people on campus with respect and kindness.
We expect proper conduct from all students. Every child has the right to feel safe at school and to be in a productive learning environment. Students are responsible for their behavior & parents are responsible for signing their child’s behavior record. This MUST be done daily to ensure a safe and positive learning environment for all students. The following is a list of our rules, the consequences for breaking rules, and the rewards for following the rules.
RULES and 1. Use inside voices.
EXPECTATIONS 2. Have listening ears.
3. Keep your hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
4. Stay in your assigned area.

classes.
CONSEQUENCES: 1. 1st Warning but still on STAR.

Parent & Administration Conference
** Students CAN go straight to #6 for any Major Infraction.**
REWARDS: 1. Verbal praise 2. Stickers, stamps, or candy 3. Teacher helper
4. Pony Points
We have gone over these procedures in class. We have practiced what happens when rules are broken. Please review this with your child. Let your child know that getting his/her “clip moved” means they broke a rule, and they control their own behavior. Working together will help to provide a safe and positive learning environment for all students. Thank you for your cooperation. PLEASE sign and return as soon as possible.
“I have reviewed this with my child and I agree to support this discipline plan.”
