Homework

Northwestern Elementary Expectations:  1. Be Respectful

HOMEWORK:

    TUESDAY:  Practice your "Sight Words".

    WEDNESDAY:  Read your sentences aloud to your "Book Buddy". 

    THURSDAY:  Practice counting,adding,and/or subtracting sets of items that 
you find around your home.  (Example: 2 forks and 3 spoons will be 5 all 
together.  6 cars and 1 doll will be 7 all together.  You can also practice 
subtraction by taking some away. Example: Get 4 stuffed bears and take away 
2. How many will you have left?)
    
REVIEW YOUR LETTERS AND NUMBERS AS TIME ALLOWS DURING THE WEEK.
  
PLEASE REMEMBER TO RETURN THE HOMEWORK FOLDER/READING JOURNAL ON FRIDAY!

Remember to read from your "Reading Journal" daily.  There will be 
poems/songs/recipes,etc. that you can sing and cook with your parents. The 
alphabet will be included to practice letter recognition and the sounds that 
represent them.  There will be "Sight Words/High Frequency Words" that you 
can practice.  There will also be sentences that you can read.  Have someone 
read aloud the sentences to you and then you read to them.  Remember to go 
from the left to the right as you read aloud.  Please "finger-point" each 
word as you read.
