This month your child will complete one of the most important milestones of
his or her life – the first week of school! I am looking forward to working
with you and your children this year and helping them to achieve their full
potential. Our days and weeks will be filled with many wonderful experiences
and opportunities to learn and grow. We are so excited you will be part of
our school family this year!
I would like to introduce myself, my name is Ms. Dennis and our class para-
professional is Ms. Erica. We both are delighted to be your child’s
teachers this school year at Northwestern Elementary. This year will begin my
tenth year of teaching in the state of Louisiana.
I believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is necessary for maximum
school success. Throughout the year, I will communicate with you through
notes, telephone calls, progress notes, and parent teacher conferences. I

Through the use of morning meeting, center time and other activites we will
work on phonetic sounds for each letter, counting ,numerical sense (as in,
show me TWO, no more and no less), calendar math(yesterday, today, tomorrow,
days of week, months of year), shapes, colors, opposites, and directional
words just to name a few.
