Frequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
What can I do to help my child at home?
As a parent myself I know that we are responsible for more than just packing a lunch box. There are many things we can do to ensure the success of our children. Reading together for 15 minutes each night, checking your child's communication book, practicing handwriting, making sure they get a good night's sleep, and keeping in touch with your child's teacher are just a few things that you can do to make school easy for your child.Back to Top

What time does school start?
School begins at 8:40. I teach from the morning bell to the afternoon bell so if your child is late he or she will miss something. If your child arrives at school after 8:40 a.m., he or she must check in the office before reporting to the classroom (except in the case of a late bus).Back to Top

What if my child must be absent?
It is so important that your child attend school everyday. But, as a parent of three I realize that illness and emergencies happen. If an absence is unavoidable please send an excuse in the S.T.A.R. Book on the first day back.Back to Top

What do I do if my child must get home a different way?
Please do not send your child to school expecting him or her to relay a message to me about a change in transportation. If you plan to pick up your child who normally rides the bus or if you wish for your child to ride a different bus than usual you must send a note. If I do not receive a note I must send your child the way he or she usually goes home.Back to Top
