Welcome to first grade! My name is Shatanta Ross-Carter. I am 28 years
old. I have been married for
about 1 1/2 years. My husband is a native of the Baker/Zachary area. We
moved here shortly after we were
married. I have a bachelor and master's degree from Southern University. I
have had the pleasure of
teaching first grade for the past 5 1/2 years. This is my second year
teaching
in Zachary. In my spare time I enjoy reading, shopping, and
watching lots of movies. My classroom is filled with,funny, fantastic,
fabulous FROGS.
In my classroom I am dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and
encouraging academic
environment for all children. We will work cooperatively to ensure the
success of my students. I want
to encourage my students to learn through exploration, coopertive learning,
and hands on activities
that allow learning to be exciting. My overall goal is to educate students
with strategies and resources
that equip them for academic success, as well as, instill in my students a
life-long love of learning!
