I have always had a passion for biology, and I am excited to share this passion with all my students! I
grew up in Colorado , and attended high school at Cherry Creek HS. While in high school I did an
internship with Baylor School of Medicine. During this internship I scrubbed in on multiple surgeries,
and was able to scrub in on a heart transplant. I discovered my love of biology, and surgery at this
time. I also competed in national science competitions after I developed a new diet pill through an
Advanced Science Research class I took my junior and senior years at Cherry Creek High School.
When it came time to decide on a college I decided to go Trinity University in San Antonio on a
scholarship were I majored in Biochemistry. I then decided to attend Colorado State University in Fort
Collins Colorado. My husband and I relocated to Shreveport in 2006 , and I began teaching . I taught
Life Science at Youree Drive Middle School, but decided to teach high school biology, and I look
forward
to a great school year at Northwood.
